Electronic Arts Revenue, Net Bookings and Cash Flow
EA’s headline FY2025 results show a modest year-over-year decline in both net bookings and GAAP net revenue. Net bookings measure products and services sold digitally or sold-in physically during the period, while net revenue is recognized under GAAP.
| Measure | FY2025 | FY2024 | Period or scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| Net bookings | $7.355 billion | $7.430 billion | EA worldwide fiscal years |
| Net revenue | $7.463 billion | $7.562 billion | EA worldwide fiscal years |
| Operating cash flow | $2.079 billion | $2.315 billion | Cash flow from operating activities |
The Electronic Arts 2025 Annual Report reports FY2025 net bookings down $75 million, or 1%, from FY2024, and net revenue down $99 million, also 1%. The annual report defines fiscal years as periods ending near March 31; these are not calendar-year comparisons.
The Electronic Arts Reports Q4 and FY25 Results release reports FY2025 net income of $1.121 billion, diluted EPS of $4.25, and $2.7 billion returned to stockholders through repurchases and dividends.
For FY2024, the same official release reported net bookings of $7.430 billion, up 1% year over year and 3% in constant currency, net revenue of $7.562 billion, up 2%, and record operating cash flow of $2.315 billion, up 49%. The constant-currency comparison is company-reported, and operating cash flow is not free cash flow.
EA Full-Game and Live-Services Trends
EA’s FY2025 mix shows the continuing importance of live services, while digital full-game downloads increased as packaged-goods revenue fell.
| FY2025 worldwide measure | FY2025 | FY2024 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full-game revenue | $2.002 billion | $2.015 billion | Down 1% |
| Full-game downloads revenue | $1.478 billion | $1.343 billion | Up 10% |
| Packaged-goods revenue | $524 million | $672 million | Down 22% |
| Live-services and other net revenue | $5.461 billion | $5.547 billion | Down 2% |
The Electronic Arts 2025 Annual Report says full-game revenue combines digital downloads and packaged goods. Full-game downloads include digital full-game sales on console and PC plus certain licensing revenue, while packaged goods are physical full games sold through distribution and retail arrangements.
The report also gives FY2025 full-game net bookings of $2.017 billion, up $12 million, or less than 1%, year over year. Live-services and other net bookings were $5.338 billion, down 2% from FY2024, and the comparable FY2024 figure was $5.425 billion, down $105 million from FY2023.
Management attributed a $789 million year-over-year net-revenue decrease mainly to declines in Apex Legends extra content and the prior-year Star Wars Jedi: Survivor release. American-football net revenue provided a $690 million offsetting increase, driven by EA SPORTS College Football 25; these are management attributions, not separately audited product profit-and-loss statements.
EA delivered 11 titles and more than 600 content updates during FY2024, according to Electronic Arts Reports Q4 and FY24 Results. The company-reported content-update count does not have a further standardized scope in the release.
Electronic Arts Platform Revenue and Deferred Revenue
For the nine months ended December 31, 2025, EA reported lower console and mobile revenue than in the comparable 2024 period, while PC-and-other revenue increased.
| Platform or total | Nine months ended Dec. 31, 2025 | Nine months ended Dec. 31, 2024 |
|---|---|---|
| Console | $3.401 billion | $3.594 billion |
| PC and other | $1.191 billion | $1.121 billion |
| Mobile | $819 million | $853 million |
| Total net revenue | $5.411 billion | $5.568 billion |
The figures come from EA’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended December 31, 2025. The PC-and-other category combines PC with other platforms, so it should not be treated as a PC-only measure.
Deferred revenue helps explain why bookings and recognized revenue are different. At December 31, 2025, deferred net revenue from online-enabled games was $2.490 billion, compared with $1.700 billion at March 31, 2025; total deferred net revenue was $2.684 billion, compared with $1.866 billion.
EA recognized $1.755 billion of revenue in the first nine months of FY2026 from opening deferred-revenue balances, versus $1.847 billion in the comparable period. These amounts represent recognition of previously deferred revenue, not new bookings.
As of December 31, 2025, $31 million of future invoicing was outside deferred revenue, with $16 million expected to be recognized within 12 months. This remaining-performance-obligation disclosure excludes estimated future variable consideration and is classified as an estimate in the filing.
EA SPORTS, Football and American Football Statistics
Sports franchises supplied several of EA’s clearest FY2024 and FY2025 performance indicators. The company’s measures are franchise-level net bookings, rankings, user growth or monetization, and should not be substituted for total player counts.
The Electronic Arts Reports Q4 and FY25 Results release reports these FY2025 outcomes:
- EA’s American-football franchise exceeded $1 billion in worldwide net bookings.
- The EA SPORTS portfolio delivered a record net-bookings year, although the release did not provide one portfolio-wide dollar total.
- EA SPORTS College Football 25 was the number-one-selling sports video game in the United States by both revenue and units sold.
- EA SPORTS FC player monetization grew by double digits after the mid-January FY2025 gameplay update; monetization is not the same as player count.
The Electronic Arts Reports Q4 and FY24 Results release reports global football franchise net bookings growth in the high-teens percentage range in FY2024 and Madden NFL franchise net bookings growth of 6% year over year. Weekly average users grew by double digits for both Madden NFL 24 and Madden Mobile during FY2024, without an exact percentage disclosed.
Through September 2024, College Football 25 was the best-selling HD title in North America, and EA had three of the top ten HD bestsellers there, according to Electronic Arts Reports Strong Q2 FY25 Results. These are company-reported rankings, with HD referring to the high-definition console/PC category described in the release.
The Sims, Apex Legends and EA Engagement Data
EA’s engagement statistics span lifetime players, new-player additions, active-user records, relative engagement and in-game activity. The periods and definitions differ substantially.
The Electronic Arts Reports Q1 FY21 Financial Results release said The Sims 4 had more than 30 million lifetime players across all platforms by Q1 FY2021. In that same quarter, daily, weekly and monthly active-player totals each reached record highs, but EA did not disclose absolute DAU, WAU or MAU values.
The Electronic Arts Reports Strong Q2 FY25 Results release said more than 15 million players joined The Sims 4 during the approximately one year before the Q2 FY2025 report. That rolling period is not a calendar year, and new players are not equivalent to lifetime or active-player totals.
EA’s 2023: A Year Powered by Interactive Entertainment page described The Sims 4 as the most widely played game in the franchise’s 23-year history in 2023, using unique active players, average weekly active users and average monthly active users. The page’s EA SPORTS FC Mobile infographic reported 45.1 billion games played and 103.5 billion goals scored during its 2023 measurement window; those figures combine FIFA Mobile and FC Mobile periods.
Apex Legends engagement reached its highest level since Season 1 during Q1 FY2021 Season 5, according to the Electronic Arts Reports Q1 FY21 Financial Results. This is a relative peak rather than an absolute engagement count.
Electronic Arts Forecasts and Shareholder Returns
EA’s FY2026 guidance was issued May 6, 2025 and is forward-looking. It describes ranges rather than realized outcomes.
| FY2026 worldwide outlook | Forecast |
|---|---|
| Net bookings | Approximately $7.6–$8.0 billion |
| Net revenue | Approximately $7.1–$7.5 billion |
| Operating expenses | Approximately $4.47–$4.57 billion |
| Net income | Approximately $795–$974 million |
| Diluted EPS | Approximately $3.09–$3.79 |
| Operating cash flow | Approximately $2.2–$2.4 billion |
The Electronic Arts Reports Q4 and FY25 Results release also expected about $500 million of change in deferred net revenue from online-enabled games in FY2026. Its FY2026 Q1 net-bookings outlook for the quarter ending June 30, 2025 was approximately $1.175 billion to $1.275 billion.
EA intended to return at least 80% of free cash flow through stock repurchases and dividends through FY2027. This is a forward-looking capital-allocation intention, not a realized payout; it also differs from the $2.7 billion actually returned to stockholders in FY2025.
